Emily’s Walk – Indiana

After little Emily Hunt suffered a spinal cord injury in 1996, the Hunt family knew that it was their personal responsibility to help find a cure for paralysis. In 1997, The Emily Hunt Foundation hosted the first annual Emily’s Walk at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Over the past five years, Emily’s Walk has attracted more than 10,000 people and raised over $500,000 for spinal cord research.
Emily’s Walk provides an excellent opportunity for people with spinal cord injuries, or for people who know someone who suffers from a spinal cord injury, to join together to help find a cure.
Everyone is invited to participate and encouraged to invite their friends and relatives to join them at Emily’s Walk, or to sponsor their participation by making a pledge. This year, The Emily Hunt Foundation is thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome Girl Scout troops from Central Indiana and surrounding areas to participate in the walk.
If every spinal cord injured person in the United States became involved in the search for a cure for paralysis by raising $100 each year, all of the current research facilities would be fully funded.
Please join us at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 13 for Emily’s Walk. Registration for the event begins at 1 p.m. and the cost is $20 per individual and $50 per family. Each participant will receive a free Emily’s Walk t-shirt at registration.
